Multidisciplinary collection of e-books (e.g. business & economics, computers & IT, engineering & technology, medical, nursing & allied health, psychology & social work, sociology & anthropology, humanities). E-books can be found via MetCat Finna or you can browse Ebook Central.

You can read an e-book directly in a browser with Ebook Central Reader by clicking Read Online.

Download

Most e-books (PDF or  EPUB) can be downloaded onto your computer or mobile device. Required reader: Adobe Digital Editions. The possibility to download varies per title, not all books can be downloaded. These books can be read online.

For downloading an e-book you should be logged in to Ebook Central with your Metropolia username.

When downloading for the first time:

• Choose device type you are using for download (computer, mobile device).
• Download Adobe Digital Editions.
• If you have already downloaded Adobe Digital Editions, click "Done with this step", choose download period and "Download Your Book" (you will get an file with .acsm ending).

Print

Printing and copying for personal use is permitted. Printing and copying varies from title to title, check what is allowed by clicking the book title in Ebook Central.

Chapter download also available.

License

For Metropolia students and staff. Most e-book functionalities e.g. adding notes and highlighting passages requires that you are logged in with your Metropolia username.

Restrictions vary from title to title: some e-books are limited to 1-3 users while others have no restrictions on the number of concurrent users. Use may be prevented if an e-book is already on loan or if the user has simultaneously 10 e-books downloaded on their account.
